We arrived late into Picton via the 3 hour Ferry ride. We were greeted by Trudy the campsite kitty and headed to bed for an early rise to get onto the ocean. We rented a two-person sea-kayak and hired a local guide, Harry, to explore the Marlborough sound. We saw starfish, jellyfish, seals, gannets, and mussels. Later, we hiked the Snout track for a different perspective of the bay.
Our second day here was spent on a mountain bike way high in the tree tops- we rented mountain bikes and hired a water taxi to ride the Queen Charlotte Track. We rode about 25 km from Torea bay to Anakiwa. This included almost 1000 m of climbing. The views were amazing but our bodies are paying for it this morning.
